We are recruiting on behalf of a leading international engineering business for an experienced Service Operations Manager to join its Rail & Marine division.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate service, maintenance, repair, overhaul and commissioning activities.
- Manage and develop a team of service engineers and technicians.
- Plan resources, schedules and service activities to meet customer requirements.
- Manage costs, profitability, spare parts and technical resources.
- Maintain high HSE, quality and compliance standards.
- Build strong relationships with key customers and provide technical support.
- Resolve complex service issues and identify opportunities for renewals, upgrades and additional services.
- Monitor KPIs and prepare management reports.
- Support UK and international service operations and customer visits.
Requirements
- Degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar.
- 5+ years' relevant technical/service experience.
- Proven experience managing technical/service teams.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical drive systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication and customer management skills.
- Commercial awareness and ideally experience in service sales.
- Rail, Marine or heavy engineering experience highly desirable.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
