We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Civil Litigation Paralegal to support a busy litigation team handling a broad range of contentious matters. The successful candidate will assist solicitors and partners throughout the litigation process, from pre-action correspondence through to trial preparation and enforcement proceedings.
This role is ideal for a candidate with strong organisational skills, excellent legal drafting ability, and experience within civil litigation in a UK law firm environment.
Key Responsibilities- Case Management
- Assist fee earners with management of civil litigation files.
- Prepare and organise case documents, bundles, and evidence.
- Maintain accurate case records and diary systems.
- Monitor court deadlines and procedural timetables.
- Legal Drafting & Documentation
- Draft correspondence, witness statements, chronologies, schedules, and court forms.
- Assist with preparation of pleadings including Particulars of Claim, Defences, and Applications.
- Prepare trial bundles and hearing documentation in accordance with court rules.
- Court & Procedural Work
- File documents via CE-File and other electronic court systems.
- Liaise with courts, barristers, experts, and external parties.
- Assist with disclosure exercises and document review.
- Conduct legal research relating to procedural and substantive matters.
- Client Support
- Act as a point of contact for clients and provide regular updates.
- Take instructions and assist with onboarding and compliance procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all communications.

- Ideally 1–2 years’ experience in civil litigation within a UK law firm.
- Strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
- Experience preparing court bundles and legal documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Law degree (LLB) or Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL).
- LPC, SQE studies, or equivalent legal training in progress/completed.
- Experience using CE-File and electronic disclosure platforms.
