The Role: Finishing Shift Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced Finishing Shift Supervisor to support the Finishing Shift Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of collation and packing operations throughout the shift. This role involves:
- Organising packing tables in line with promotional requirements
- Assigning team leaders to their respective teams
- Monitoring quality control standards
- Ensuring the accurate allocation of client stock
You will play a key role in maintaining high operational standards through strong organisation, attention to detail, and collaborative leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Finishing Shift Manager to ensure appropriate staffing levels and workload allocation for each shift
- Communicate clear job instructions to team leaders and team members
- Ensure all work is prepared in a timely manner for packing and table layout
- Lay out packing tables and check print quality prior to collation and packing
- Ensure all print is correctly labelled before production begins
- Monitor packing accuracy in line with agreed service level agreements
- Check packing materials and packing quality in accordance with company guidelines
- Report all non-conformances in line with R.A.C.I. procedures and communicate issues to teams as required
- Plan and manage team activity in consultation with the Finishing Shift Manager, ensuring adherence to agreed budgets and timescales
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of print finishing processes
- Previous experience working within a print finishing environment
- Clear and effective verbal communication skills
- Excellent people skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
- Basic IT skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet use
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and demanding targets
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Ability to prioritise effectively and manage conflicting demands
- High attention to detail
- Comfortable working within stringent quality and operational systems
