We are seeking an experienced and motivated Conveyancing Solicitor to join our clients established property team in Bishops Stortford. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters, delivering high-quality legal services to a broad client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a full caseload of residential conveyancing transactions from instruction to completion
  • Handle sales, purchases, leasehold and freehold properties, remortgages, transfers of equity, and new builds
  • Conduct title checks, property searches, and draft/review contracts
  • Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other solicitors to ensure smooth progression of transactions
  • Provide clear, practical legal advice to clients at all stages of the conveyancing process
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
  • Meet billing and performance targets

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with a current practising certificate
  • Minimum of 2 years’ PQE in residential conveyancing (flexible depending on experience)
  • Proven ability to manage a busy caseload independently
  • Strong technical knowledge of conveyancing procedures and property law
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • High level of attention to detail and organisational ability
  • Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office

Desirable Skills

  • Experience handling high-volume caseloads
  • Familiarity with local property market in Hertfordshire/Essex area
