We're looking for a hands-on Electronic Test & Repair Technician to join a growing manufacturing team. If you enjoy fault-finding, repairing electronics to component level, and working with high-quality audio products, this could be the perfect role for you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Test and inspect board-level audio products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Diagnose and repair electronic faults down to component level.
- Repair and rework PCBs, including: Through-Hole and SMD components, Single-sided and plated-through-hole (PTH) boards, Hand soldering, hot air rework, and track repairs.
- Support production teams with technical troubleshooting when required.
- Carry out electrical testing on products and components using established procedures.
- Assist with developing and maintaining testing methods alongside Quality and Design teams.
- Accurately complete production and testing documentation.
- Help drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and efficiency.
- Work collaboratively to achieve production targets while maintaining excellent housekeeping and safety standards.
What We're Looking For
- Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong electronics knowledge, particularly: Analogue electronics, Digital electronics, Mains power supplies.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an engineering, electronics, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience fault-finding and repairing electronic assemblies to component level.
- Competent using: Ability to read and follow manufacturing drawings, test procedures, and technical documentation.
Qualifications
- You will hold either: A Level 3 qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (ONC, BTEC National Diploma, C&G/EAL Technical Diploma), or A relevant Level 3 NVQ or Apprenticeship with equivalent industry experience, or Demonstrable knowledge and experience equivalent to Level 3 standards.
