We are seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Solicitor to join our clients growing Construction team based in Basildon. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with proven experience in construction law who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking firm. The successful candidate must have previous experience in Construction Law and be confident managing their own caseload while providing commercially focused legal advice to a diverse client base, including developers, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, landlords, and commercial businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own caseload of contentious and/or non-contentious construction matters.
- Draft, review and negotiate a range of construction contracts, including:
- JCT Contracts
- NEC Contracts
- Consultant appointments
- Sub-contracts
- Collateral warranties
- Performance bonds and guarantees
- Provide commercially focused legal advice on construction projects from inception through to completion.
- Advise clients on contractual risk and dispute avoidance.
- Handle construction disputes, including adjudication, mediation, arbitration and litigation where appropriate.
- Liaise with clients, surveyors, contractors, consultants and other professionals.
- Maintain strong client relationships and deliver an exceptional standard of client care.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and professional obligations.
- Support business development initiatives and contribute to the continued growth of the Construction department.
