About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Advisorto join our aerospace manufacturing team in Basildon. This is a key position responsible for leading Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) activities across the site, ensuring compliance with legislation, promoting a positive safety culture, and driving continuous improvement.
Working closely with operational and leadership teams, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance within a highly regulated engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
As our Health & Safety Officer, you will:
- Lead all Health, Safety and Environmental activities across the Basildon site.
- Promote a positive safety culture with a focus on continuous improvement and achieving zero harm.
- Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, environmental regulations and company policies.
- Develop, implement and maintain HSE management systems, policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and workplace assessments, ensuring corrective actions are completed.
- Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations, producing reports and recommendations.
- Carry out and support risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work.
- Advise managers and employees on best practice, legislative requirements and safe working methods.
- Chair Health & Safety Committee meetings and provide regular HSE performance reports.
- Deliver Health & Safety inductions, toolbox talks and training programmes across the business.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness, fire safety arrangements, drills and Emergency Response Plans.
- Manage PPE requirements and ensure appropriate controls are maintained.
- Coordinate occupational health surveillance programmes with external providers.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, insurers and external contractors regarding Health, Safety, Environmental and site security matters. xgikmsk
