Immigration Solicitor Location: Central London Chancery Lane Salary: £40,000 £60,000 per annum, depending on experience Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Experience: Minimum 3 Years' PQE Working Arrangement: Office-based About the Role A well-established and growing law firm in Central London is looking for an experienced Immigration Solicitor with a minimum of 3 years' PQE to join its expanding Immigration department. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified solicitor with strong experience in UK Immigration Law who is confident managing their own caseload and advising both private and business clients. The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload of immigration matters while also taking responsibility for supervising and supporting junior members of the team. You will play an important role in providing high-quality client service, developing the department and contributing to its continued growth. This is an office-based position in Central London Key Responsibilities Immigration Caseload Independently manage a varied caseload of UK immigration matters from initial enquiry through to completion. Advise individuals, families and businesses on a broad range of immigration matters, including: Visitor Visas Student Visas Skilled Worker Visas Family Visas Leave to Remain Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) British Citizenship and Nationality applications Sponsor Licence applications and compliance Family and Private Life applications EU Settlement Scheme applications Administrative Reviews and appeals, where appropriate Prepare high-quality immigration applications, supporting documentation, legal submissions and correspondence. Liaise with clients, UKVI, the Home Office, Counsel and other third parties. Provide clear, practical and commercially focused immigration advice. Keep clients updated throughout the progression of their matters. Identify complex or high-risk matters and escalate where appropriate. Supervision & Team Support Supervise and mentor immigration paralegals and junior caseworkers. Review work to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance with professional standards. Provide technical guidance and support to junior members of the team. Assist with workload allocation and departmental organisation. Conduct regular file reviews and contribute to training and development. Promote best practice across the Immigration department. Client Development & Business Development Conduct initial client consultations and convert enquiries into retained instructions. Develop and maintain strong client relationships. Work towards agreed billing and revenue targets. Maintain accurate time recording and billing practices. Identify opportunities for cross-referrals to other departments. Support networking and business development activities. Contribute to the continued growth of the Immigration department. Compliance & Professional Standards Keep up to date with UK Immigration Law, Immigration Rules and Home Office policy. Ensure compliance with SRA regulations, AML requirements and internal procedures. Maintain accurate electronic client files and records. Protect client confidentiality and comply with GDPR requirements. Identify and report compliance and risk issues where appropriate. Essential Requirements The successful candidate must have: Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales with a current practising certificate. Minimum 3 years' PQE specialising in UK Immigration Law . Strong experience handling both personal and business immigration matters . Proven ability to independently manage your own caseload . Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior fee earners, paralegals or caseworkers. Excellent client care and relationship management skills. Strong knowledge of UK Immigration Law and the Immigration Rules. Commercial awareness and experience working towards billing or financial targets. Excellent drafting, analytical and organisational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Right to work in the UK. Desirable Experience Experience handling immigration appeals and complex immigration matters. Experience with Sponsor Licence applications and compliance . Existing client or professional referral network. Additional language skills. Experience using legal case management systems. Salary & Benefits £40,000 £60,000 per annum , depending on experience.
