Sales Manager in Croydon, Surrey

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sales / Business Development professional to join an established engineering business, responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities and delivering growth across an assigned territory.

This role is ideal for someone with experience selling industrial engineering products, equipment or technical solutions into the paper-making / paper manufacturing industry.

Previous experience selling into the paper manufacturing industry is essential.

The Role

• Develop existing customer relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Build relationships with paper mills, paper manufacturers and related businesses.
• Promote specialist industrial engineering products, including valves and technical solutions.
• Generate enquiries and develop opportunities across service and new-build markets.
• Prepare quotations and manage technical/commercial negotiations.
• Maintain accurate customer and opportunity information within Salesforce CRM.
• Identify new markets and territory opportunities and provide regular sales forecasts.
• Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to Sales Management.

About You

• Proven experience in technical sales, business development or account management.
• Established experience selling into the paper-making / paper manufacturing industry essential.
• Knowledge of the Valve industry, specifically paper, sewage and renewable market
• Understanding of P&ID flow diagrams and symbols
• Strong commercial, negotiation and communication skills.
• Confident developing existing accounts and winning new business.
• Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering
• Salesforce/CRM experience would be advantageous.
