Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Brake Bay Technician to support the company’s repair and overhaul activities within our aircraft component maintenance operation. This is a key technical role focused on the inspection, repair, overhaul, and return-to-service of aircraft wheels and brakes. The successful candidate will work within a dedicated maintenance bay, ensuring all components are serviced to regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspection, assessment, repair, and overhaul of aircraft wheels and brake components.
- Accurately identify parts and determine work scope using work orders and computer-based maintenance systems.
- Ensure all components are processed in accordance with company procedures, manufacturer data, and aviation regulatory requirements.
- Document all work carried out, ensuring traceability and compliance.
- Operate workshop tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant working environment.
- Escalate any defects, tooling issues, or irregularities to supervisors promptly.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team performance targets.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a mechanical, component maintenance, engineering, or workshop environment.
- High attention to detail, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and quality.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced environment and meet turnaround deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- Experience with aircraft wheels and brakes maintenance.
- Engineering or mechanical qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, apprenticeship, etc.).
