A1 Personnel are partnering with a leading construction solutions provider delivering projects across Demolition, Enabling, Civil Engineering & Groundworks, Temporary Works. We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join their team on a permanent basis.
About the Role:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing the finances and contractual relationships of construction projects. You will ensure projects remain profitable, budgets are accurately controlled, and all contractual obligations are met. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong understanding of construction processes, materials, legislation, and excellent negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control and manage project costs, ensuring profitability
- Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts
- Analyse project financial performance and report trends
- Manage subcontractor works commercially
- Liaise with clients, design teams, and subcontractors on a daily basis
- Maintain contract documentation and advise on post-contract matters
- Negotiate and agree sub-contractor contracts and valuations
- Price and forecast materials required, tracking design/construction changes
- Support site teams with take-offs and project awareness
Requirements:
- 5 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent, including Maths (Science, IT, Law, Geography, or Design Technology beneficial)
- BTEC, HNC/HND, or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Studies, or Building Management (industrial placement advantageous)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing elements of construction projects
- Membership or eligibility for membership with RICS is desirable
- Strong numeracy, organisational, and negotiation skills
- Proficient in IT and construction management software
