Laser Machine Operative
Location: Rayleigh
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Job Type: Full-time
Hours: 6.30am until 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
About the Role
We are looking for an able, reliable and hardworking Laser Machine Operative to join our busy factory environment.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing or factory setting. However, full training will be provided for the right person who demonstrates a willingness to learn, a good work ethic and the ability to work safely and accurately.
This is a hands-on role involving the operation of laser cutting machinery, material handling, quality checking and packing finished products. The ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions and operating procedures is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Load sheets and tubes of metal, including steel and aluminium, into laser cutting machines.
- Set up and operate laser cutting programmes in accordance with operating procedures.
- Monitor the cutting process and ensure machines are operating correctly.
- Measure and inspect finished components using appropriate measuring equipment to ensure they meet required dimensions and specifications.
- Carry out routine daily checks and keep machinery and the surrounding work area clean and tidy.
- Pack and prepare finished products for dispatch.
- Handle materials and finished products, including some heavy lifting .
- Follow all company health and safety procedures and wear the required PPE.
- Work accurately and consistently, paying close attention to detail.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues to maintain an efficient and productive factory environment.
Forklift Experience
Previous forklift experience would be an advantage. However, forklift operation will be subject to internal training and assessment , with particular emphasis on demonstrating safe operation within confined working areas.

- Ideally experienced in operating machinery, particularly laser cutting equipment, although this is not essential as training will be provided.
