About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our clients night operations team. This position plays a key role in ensuring that manufactured components and assemblies meet internal quality standards, engineering specifications, and customer expectations before progressing through the production process. Working closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, maintaining accurate quality records, supporting process improvements, and helping drive a culture of quality throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections on components, assemblies, and finished products against engineering drawings and specification requirements.
- Verify product conformity throughout the manufacturing process and ensure compliance with established quality procedures.
- Complete inspection documentation accurately, maintaining full traceability and audit-ready records.
- Support production teams by carrying out timely first-off inspections and in-process verification activities.
- Prepare and maintain First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation and supporting quality reports.
- Conduct incoming goods inspections where required, ensuring purchased materials and components meet specified requirements.
- Raise and document non-conformances, supporting containment and corrective action activities.
- Escalate quality concerns promptly to relevant departments to minimise production disruption.
- Assist with investigations into quality issues, contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all inspection activities are performed in accordance with company quality, health safety, and environmental procedures.
- Provide inspection support across manufacturing, assembly, and supply chain functions as business needs require.
Skills Experience
Essential
- Experience in a manufacturing quality inspection environment.
- Competent in the use of precision measuring instruments, gauges, and inspection equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of dimensional inspection techniques and drawing compliance.
- Knowledge of both metric and imperial measurement systems.
- Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to record keeping and documentation.
- Ability to identify quality concerns and communicate findings effectively.
Desirable
- Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
- Background within aerospace, precision engineering, or other highly regulated manufacturing sectors.
- Familiarity with First Article Inspection processes and reporting requirements.
- Experience using ERP or MRP systems.
- Awareness of quality tools and methodologies such as SPC, MSA, NDT, and ISO/ASME standards.
- Understanding of continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques.
