A1 Personnel is partnering with a UK-based manufacturer specialising in the design, production, and supply of roller shutters, personnel (PA) doors, high-speed doors, steel

They are expanding significantly and now operate out of two large warehouses and are looking for HGV Class 2 Drivers to join their team.

  • Minimum 1 year in Class
  • Valid CPC Qualification
  • Valid Class 2 HGV license
  • (Ideal but not essential) experience of drop-side and flatbed operations
  • License with no more than 6 points
  • Any points including the following will be rejected; DD codes, CD codes, DG codes, UT codes.
  • Drivers to be able to confidently demonstrate the use of ratchet straps, securing a load and tachograph law.

Job Description

  • Day to day driving, securing and execution of deliveries Nationwide across the UK, including Cornwall and Scotland consisting of industrial roller shutters, security doors along with parts for these operations.
  • Driver to carry out day to day vehicle checks
  • Providing customers with excellent customer service
  • General housekeeping of the vehicles being driven
  • There will be occasions for optional weekend work, based purely on customer demands.
  • Drivers will be expected to complete nights out in the vehicle away from site, up to a couple of nights per week depending on work volumes.
  • Drivers will be expected to secure their own loads at the start and during the course of the day and for any return collections.
  • Vehicles to be driven include an 18tonne rigid and a 26tonne rigid, though depending on work volumes there will be occasions where the driver is required to drive 7.5tonne vehicles and vans.
  • Some sites will be able to provide offloading assistance through the use of MHE and forklifts, however there is a strong element of manual labour & handball offloading involved.
