About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Steel Fabricator/Welder to join a busy workshop team. This role involves producing high-quality steel components for a variety of projects, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards. You’ll work with technical drawings and fabrication plans to deliver accurate and durable assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
- Cut, bend, and shape steel using appropriate tools and machinery.
- Perform MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding to assemble components.
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and other handling equipment safely.
- Carry out finishing tasks such as grinding and drilling to meet quality standards.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with workshop and site teams to meet deadlines.
- Maintain equipment and follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fabrication and Welding (or equivalent).
- Previous experience in steel fabrication or welding within a workshop or construction environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Skilled in MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding techniques.
- Familiarity with fabrication tools and machinery.
