A growing and ambitious law firm based in Rayleigh is seeking a Family Paralegal or Family Solicitor to join its expanding Family Law Department. Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of family law matters appropriate to your level of qualification and experience.
  • Assisting clients with divorce, financial settlements, child arrangements, cohabitation disputes, and domestic abuse matters.
  • Drafting legal documents, correspondence, witness statements, and court applications.
  • Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries.
  • Liaising with clients, counsel, courts, experts, and third parties.
  • Attending court hearings, client meetings, and mediations where appropriate.
  • Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting business development, networking activities, and the continued growth of the Family Law Department.

Requirements

For Paralegal Applicants:

  • Previous experience working within a family law department.
  • Strong knowledge of family law procedures and documentation.
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.

For Solicitor Applicants:

  • Qualified Solicitor.
  • Experience handling a range of private family law matters.
  • Strong client care and case management skills.
  • Advocacy experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
