Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced and reliable Vehicle Mechanic to join their engineering and maintenance team within a busy industrial environment. This role is responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a range of operational equipment, including terminal tractors, trailers, and associated machinery, ensuring equipment remains safe, compliant, and fully operational at all times. The successful candidate will have strong mechanical experience, practical problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to maintenance and workplace safety.
Key Duties Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on terminal tractors, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Undertake welding, fabrication, and fitting work when required.
- Replace and repair vehicle components including tyres, wheels, braking systems, and mechanical parts.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance checks on equipment and machinery.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records.
