About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our engineering team in Rochford. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that precision-engineered components meet customer specifications and quality standards through accurate inspection and measurement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong quality background who is confident using a range of inspection equipment, including CMMs, shadowgraphs, and Metrios vision systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out first-off, in-process, and final inspections of precision-engineered components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD T, and customer specifications.
- Programme and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
- Programme and operate shadowgraph and Metrios vision inspection systems.
- Use a variety of manual measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
- Produce accurate inspection reports and maintain quality documentation.
- Identify and report non-conforming products and support corrective actions.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and customer requirements.
Skills Experience
Essential
- Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and dimensional tolerances.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection.
- Good communication and record-keeping skills.
Desirable
- Experience programming CMMs.
- Experience programming and operating shadowgraph inspection equipment.
- Experience programming and operating Metrios vision measuring systems.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Experience inspecting CNC machined components.
