Reporting to: Finance Manager

Job Purpose

To take full responsibility for the credit control function while supporting the wider finance team. This role focuses on maintaining healthy cash flow through effective debt collection, monitoring customer credit risk, and assisting with purchase ledger processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Credit Control
    • Full ownership of the sales ledger and credit control function
    • Proactively chase outstanding debts via phone and email
    • Maintain accurate records of all customer communications
    • Resolve invoice queries in a timely manner to prevent payment delays
    • Produce and review aged debtor reports
    • Escalate problematic accounts where necessary
  • Credit Risk Management
    • Monitor and review customer credit limits regularly
    • Assess new and existing customers for creditworthiness
    • Place accounts on hold where credit limits are exceeded or payments are overdue
    • Work closely with the Finance Manager on high-risk accounts
  • Accounts Assistant Duties
    • Match Statements of Account (SOA) with invoices on the system
    • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies
    • Prepare and pass verified invoices
