Quality Inspector Salary: £30,000–£35,000 (DOE) Hours: Monday–Thursday, 06:45–16:30 (37 hours per week) About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a forward-thinking engineering team within the aerospace sector. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining quality control throughout the manufacturing process—ensuring all components meet stringent industry, customer, and regulatory standards. This position is ideal for someone with strong aerospace inspection experience, excellent measurement skills, and a passion for continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Inspect all manufactured parts in line with manufacturing routings and the Quality Management System (QMS). Maintain quality control and support the delivery of compliant products to customers. Carry out Calibration, Testing, Qualification, and associated approvals. Assist with inspection activities and technical reviews as directed by the Quality Manager. Use a broad range of measurement tools confidently, including programming of CMM / laser measurement equipment. Contribute to FAIR / LAIR compilation and approval. Support non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and rework actions. Ensure product Release is executed in line with quality requirements. Maintain product traceability, batch control, and correct use of calibrated measurement systems. Participate in manufacturing meetings and promote quality improvements and 5S principles. Monitor subcontractor performance, scrap, and rework in line with quality plans. Uphold and contribute to the maintenance of ISO 9001:2008 / AS9100 standards. Skills & Experience Required Previous experience in an engineering environment—ideally aerospace. Strong measurement skills using tools such as micrometers, callipers, CMMs, shadowgraphs, torque testers, tensile machines, and other precision equipment. Hands-on experience with calibration and managing calibration records to aerospace quality standards. Practical knowledge of aerospace testing methods (e.g., hardness, UTS, proof load, torque). Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Familiar with auditing procedures and First Article Inspection (FAI). Solid understanding of quality/aerospace standards: ISO 9001, AS9100, EASA Part 21/145. Strong problem-solving ability (ideally 8D methodology). Excellent attention to detail, numeracy, communication, and time management skills. Experience working with continuous improvement and 5S systems.
