We’re currently looking for an experienced Import & Export Operator to join our growing freight forwarding and NVOCC team based in Chelmsford. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing both import and export ocean shipments, coordinating with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers, and customers to ensure smooth movement of cargo from booking through to final delivery.

The Role

  • Manage end-to-end ocean import and export shipments
  • Handle FCL and LCL movements
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, overseas agents, co-loaders, and hauliers
  • Prepare and process shipping documentation including HBLs and MBLs
  • Arrange customs clearance procedures where required
  • Monitor vessel schedules and shipment progress
  • Manage cargo releases, deliveries, and container returns
  • Provide customers with regular shipment updates and excellent service
  • Ensure all files are completed accurately and profitably
  • Support the wider operations team with day-to-day freight activities
