Job Description Head of Litigation Full-Time | Permanent Lead and Grow a Successful Litigation Department A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Litigation Solicitor to join a well-established and ambitious law firm in Chelmsford as Head of Litigation. This is a key leadership appointment for a commercially minded solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' PQE who is looking to take ownership of a growing department, lead a team of legal professionals and play an integral role in the firm's continued success. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent leadership and client relationship skills, helping to drive the department forward while maintaining exceptional standards of legal service. As Head of Litigation, you will oversee a varied caseload of contentious matters while providing strategic direction and support to the wider team. Managing a broad range of litigation matters from instruction through to resolution. Leading the development and growth of the Litigation Department. Monitoring departmental performance, productivity and profitability. Ensuring compliance with SRA regulations and risk management procedures. Contributing to business development initiatives and networking activities. Commercial litigation Contract disputes Property litigation Professional negligence claims Civil litigation matters Strong litigation experience with the ability to manage complex matters independently.
