An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Newly Qualified Solicitor or Private Client Solicitor with up to 2 years' PQE to join a growing and well-established law firm in Basildon.
This role offers the opportunity to develop your expertise within a busy Private Client department, working alongside experienced practitioners on a broad range of matters while receiving ongoing support, mentoring and training.
The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional client service and building a long-term career within Private Client law.
The Role
You will assist with and manage a varied caseload of private client matters, including:
- Drafting Wills and advising on estate planning
- Probate and estate administration
- Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Deputyship applications
- Court of Protection matters
- Trust administration
- Inheritance Tax and succession planning matters
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing files with appropriate supervision depending on experience.
- Meeting and advising clients in person, by telephone and remotely.
- Drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Providing clear, practical and client-focused legal advice.
- Maintaining accurate file management and compliance standards.
- Building strong relationships with clients and professional contacts.
- Supporting senior fee earners on more complex matters.
- Contributing to the continued success and growth of the department.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (NQ – 2 years' PQE).
- Experience within a Private Client department gained during training, qualification or post-qualification practice.
- Knowledge of Wills, Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
- A professional, empathetic and client-focused approach.
- The ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
- A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within Private Client law.
