About the Role
We are looking for an experienced CNC Miller – Nights to join our manufacturing team in Basildon.
This is an excellent opportunity for a fully skilled, time-served CNC Setter/Operator with strong milling experience to work in a precision engineering environment.
You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-quality precision components from engineering drawings, working to tight tolerances and maintaining consistently high standards of quality, safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC milling machines, including 3 and 5-axis machines .
- Produce precision components accurately and efficiently from engineering drawings.
- Work to tight tolerances and inspect your own work to ensure it meets required standards.
- Carry out quality checks on completed components.
- Interpret engineering drawings and follow written manufacturing instructions.
- Use a wide range of precision measuring equipment.
- Work independently and use your initiative to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Maintain a high level of concentration and attention to detail throughout the manufacturing process.
- Clean and maintain CNC machines, associated equipment and the working area.
- Follow all company health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.
- Work in accordance with ISO 50001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 9001 standards.
- Contribute to continual improvement across manufacturing, quality, health & safety, environmental, energy and sustainability performance.
- Support the Energy team by identifying opportunities to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency within your area of responsibility.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider manufacturing team.
About You
You will be a fully skilled, time-served CNC Setter/Operator with the relevant qualifications/certificates and proven experience in CNC milling.
- Proven experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
- Experience working with 3-axis and 5-axis milling.
- The ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of precision measurement equipment.
- Good computer literacy.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
- Good practical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to follow written instructions and established procedures.
- The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to working safely.
- Excellent hand-to-eye coordination.
- Normal colour vision.
