An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Newly Qualified Solicitor or Private Client Solicitor with up to 2 years' PQE to join a growing and well-established law firm in Basildon.

This role offers the opportunity to develop your expertise within a busy Private Client department, working alongside experienced practitioners on a broad range of matters while receiving ongoing support, mentoring and training.

The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional client service and building a long-term career within Private Client law.

The Role

You will assist with and manage a varied caseload of private client matters, including:

• Drafting Wills and advising on estate planning
• Probate and estate administration
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Deputyship applications
• Court of Protection matters
• Trust administration
• Inheritance Tax and succession planning matters

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing files with appropriate supervision depending on experience.
• Meeting and advising clients in person, by telephone and remotely.
• Drafting legal documents and correspondence.
• Providing clear, practical and client-focused legal advice.
• Maintaining accurate file management and compliance standards.
• Building strong relationships with clients and professional contacts.
• Supporting senior fee earners on more complex matters.
• Contributing to the continued success and growth of the department.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (NQ – 2 years' PQE).
• Experience within a Private Client department gained during training, qualification or post-qualification practice.
• Knowledge of Wills, Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• A professional, empathetic and client-focused approach.
• The ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
• A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within Private Client law.
