Manufacturing Process Engineer in Basildon, Essex

A leading high-precision manufacturing group with operations in the UK and Europe is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join its Basildon site. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and continuously improving manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. You will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and external design teams to optimise workflows, support NPI, resolve technical issues, and drive cost-effective process improvements. Key Responsibilities Create and maintain manufacturing documentation Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T Support NPI activities and produce cost estimates Define tooling requirements for assembly and inspection Liaise with internal and external design teams to support DFM/DFMA Use ERP/MRP systems to support manufacturing processes Skills & Experience Strong understanding of machining processes, aerospace materials, and surface treatments Ability to work independently and challenge existing processes Excellent organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills Computer literate; Lean, CAD, and 4/5-axis CNC knowledge desirable What’s on Offer Full-time, permanent role (40 hours, Monday–Friday) Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package 33 days’ holiday including Christmas closure Supportive environment with clear opportunities for development and progression
