Stonemason Job Description: A1 Jobs are currently recruiting for a skilled Stone Restorer / Plasterer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plastering and related trades, demonstrating proficiency in various techniques and tools. This role involves working on residential and commercial projects, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to specifications. My client is a well-established company based in Glasgow who are known for their quality work and outstanding customer service. Duties · Apply plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using traditional methods and modern techniques. · Prepare surfaces for plastering by cleaning, repairing, and applying bonding agents as necessary. · Mix plaster ingredients according to specifications for optimal consistency and performance. · Use hand tools and power tools effectively to achieve smooth finishes on all surfaces. · Collaborate with other tradespeople, including masons and carpenters, to ensure seamless integration of plasterwork with other construction elements. · Conduct repairs on existing plasterwork, including patching holes and cracks. Requirements to be considered for this position: · Experience in Stone Restoration. · Experience in applying stone repairs with approved materials such as MM stone repair (St. Astiers Lithomix equivalent) mortar. · Experience in dressing/descaling stonework in preparation of surface finishes. · Experience in lime mortar pointing utilising various methods of finishing etc. · Experience in lime mortar rendering / harling and in particular the use of Fagade 400 (Thermocromex) would be preferred. · Comfortable and experienced with Working at Heights, on Chimneys and on various types of scaffold access. · Ability to work within a team, on their own and correctly interpret instructions as well as basic drawings. · Driving licence would be advantageous but not essential. In return, the company will offer a very competitive salary which will depend on qualification and experience.
