Our client are a specialist stone restoration and conservation company based in Glasgow, working on a wide range of historic and traditional buildings throughout Scotland. With a strong focus on preserving architectural heritage, we deliver high-quality restoration projects on predominantly pre-1919 properties and are looking for an experienced Stone Restorer to join our growing team.

The Role

As a Stone Restorer, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of stone conservation and repair works on historic buildings. The successful candidate will have experience using specialist stone repair products and traditional masonry techniques, with a strong understanding of heritage restoration practices. You will work alongside a variety of skilled trades as part of a collaborative team delivering high-quality restoration projects.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out stone repairs using MM Stone Repair Mortar
  • Applying Facade 400 and other specialist restoration products
  • Undertaking traditional line mortar pointing to a high standard
  • Repairing and restoring damaged stonework on historic properties
  • Applying tender coatings and protective finishes in accordance with project specifications
  • Assessing stone defects and carrying out appropriate conservation repairs
  • Working on predominantly pre-1919 buildings and listed properties
  • Collaborating with stonemasons, builders, joiners, roofers, and other skilled trades
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to conservation standards
