A1 Jobs have an excellent opportunity for a Team Leader to work with our client. You will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of recycling operatives in the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant processing of recyclable materials. As a Team Leader, you will ensure productivity targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality, health and safety, and customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of recycling operatives.
  • Allocate tasks and monitor staff performance throughout shifts.
  • Ensure recyclable materials are sorted, processed, and stored correctly.
  • Conduct quality checks to minimise contamination and maximise recycling rates.
  • Monitor workflow and productivity, ensuring operational targets are achieved.
  • Train, mentor, and support new and existing team members.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and health and safety procedures.
  • Carry out toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Report equipment faults and liaise with maintenance teams when required.
  • Complete operational records, reports, and documentation accurately.
  • Manage attendance, timekeeping, and shift cover where necessary.
  • Investigate and report accidents, incidents, or near misses.
  • Promote a positive team culture and encourage continuous improvement.
