An exciting opportunity for a student to gain hands-on environmental field experience while studying. We are looking for a Part-Time Environmental Field Assistant to support our Environmental Technician with groundwater quality monitoring and restoration work. The role involves outdoor fieldwork, sample collection, and basic data analysis, making it ideal for students studying Geography, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Environmental Technician with groundwater quality remediation work
- Conduct fieldwork outdoors in all weather conditions
- Transport and handle purging and sampling equipment (up to 20 kg), including across uneven terrain and slopes
- Collect groundwater samples for laboratory analysis following established procedures
- Review and analyse laboratory results to help assess improvements in groundwater quality
- Accurately record field observations and sampling data
- Other environmental monitoring fieldwork as required.
Requirements
- Currently studying or have studied Geography, Environmental Science, or a related subject (preferred but not essential)
- Physically able to carry equipment up to 20 kg over varying terrain
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
