Overview
To be responsible for repairing and servicing both customers and in-house equipment, to quality standards in accordance with Company procedures at optimum cost, whilst providing exceptional levels of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Servicing and calibrating equipment for our clients' own hire fleet and customer-owned equipment, including, where relevant, carrying out services at customer premises.
- Competently carrying out technical demonstrations on the company's full range of hire products.
- Supplying regional support on the specialist range of equipment.
- Providing telephone technical support both internally and externally.
- Delivering first-class customer backup including attending breakdowns, providing onsite technical support and training, carrying out site audits and providing feedback to customers and supervisors.
- Establishing good relationships with customers and suppliers, both internal and external, to assist the company in achieving its business goals and objectives.
- Suggesting improvements to equipment, depot policies, systems and working practices as part of a culture of continuous improvement.
Skills
- A proven mechanical engineering/mechanics background.
- Electronics, hydraulics and component fault finding background/experience.
- Flexible disposition.
- Aptitude to learn quickly.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Desirable: FLT Licence.
- Working knowledge of servicing petrol and diesel generators.
- Knowledge of equipment in the fleet hire.
- Willingness to travel.
- Positive 'can do' attitude, with the desire to learn and develop.
