A1 Jobs is currently looking for a General Builder for our client in Glasgow. Our client is a well-established construction and refurbishment company based in Glasgow, delivering high-quality building, restoration, and renovation projects across Scotland. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced and motivated General Builder to join the team and contribute to a diverse range of projects.
The Role
As a General Builder, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of construction and refurbishment tasks across residential, commercial, and heritage projects. The successful candidate will have experience in stonework, refurbishment, and general building works, and will enjoy working closely with a range of skilled trades as part of a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Undertaking refurbishment and renovation works on residential and commercial properties
- Completing a wide range of general building tasks to a high standard
- Working alongside joiners, roofers, stonemasons, painters, and other skilled trades to deliver projects efficiently
- Supporting and coordinating with site teams to ensure works are completed safely and on schedule
- Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications where required
- Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements
Requirements
- Proven experience as a General Builder
- Competence in stonework, refurbishment, and general building works
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and alongside a variety of different trades
- Good knowledge of construction methods, materials, and health & safety practices
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable, hardworking, and professional attitude
Preferred (but not essential)
- Full UK driving licence
- CSCS Card
- Experience working on heritage or restoration projects
- Additional trade qualifications or certifications
