The Role
As a Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities while building a strong and sustainable sales pipeline. You will develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with company growth objectives and represent the business across the Scottish market.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and win new business opportunities
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve growth targets
- Build, manage, and maintain a high-quality sales pipeline
- Generate leads through cold outreach, networking, and industry events
- Conduct client meetings and deliver engaging presentations
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and tender submissions
- Negotiate and close deals, ensuring a smooth onboarding process
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records using CRM systems
- Provide regular pipeline updates and sales forecasts
- Monitor competitor activity and industry trends
Collaboration & Representation
- Work closely with internal teams including Operations and Account Management
- Represent the company at networking events and industry forums
- Promote the company’s sustainability and compliance standards
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in B2B field sales with a proven track record
- Demonstrated ability to generate and close new business
- Experience in sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, facilities management, or commercial services (preferred)
- Good understanding of the Scottish market
- Experience with tenders or public sector procurement (advantageous)
