Our clients range from small businesses to large commercial and industrial sectors. As we expand our reach, we are looking for an experienced and ambitious Business Development Manager to help drive our growth and secure new business across various sectors.
Role Overview
As the Business Development Manager (BDM), you will be at the forefront of our sales strategy. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in sales, particularly within the security services industry. You’ll be responsible for generating new business, managing relationships with key clients, and supporting our operational teams to deliver tailored security solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and target new business opportunities through market research and networking, with a focus on security solutions for commercial properties, construction sites, and more.
- Sales Process Management: Drive the sales cycle from initial contact to contract closure, presenting tailored solutions and negotiating contracts to achieve profitability.
- Client Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction and identifying upsell opportunities.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with the operations team to ensure smooth service delivery and with the marketing team to support proposals and lead generation.
- Networking & Brand Awareness: Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities to build our reputation and generate leads.
- Performance Tracking: Manage your sales pipeline, using CRM software to track opportunities, set forecasts, and provide regular reports to senior management.
Skills & Experience Required
- Sales Expertise: Minimum 2 years of experience in business development, in the security services industry.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and generating new business.
- Client-Focused: Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with a commitment to understanding client needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience or interest in security services such as CCTV, alarms, access control and security systems.
- Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office.
- Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is essential, as this role requires travel to meet clients across the UK.
