Who We Are Looking For
- Experienced freelance interpreters and translators
- Professionals for medical, legal, business, and conference settings
- Specialists in spoken, written, or sign language
- Individuals committed to accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate interpretation (consecutive, simultaneous, liaison)
- Deliver professional translation of documents and materials
- Maintain confidentiality, impartiality, and accuracy
- Attend in-person or remote assignments via phone/video
- Prepare for assignments with relevant terminology
- Meet deadlines and communicate effectively with coordination teams
Professional Standards
- Confidentiality in handling all client information
- Impartial and neutral communication
- High level of accuracy without omission
- Punctuality for all assignments
- Adherence to professional bodies like CIOL or NRPSI
Skills & Qualifications
- Fluency in English and at least one other language
- Qualification in interpreting, translation, or linguistics
- Proven professional experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage schedules
Desirable Skills
- Experience in healthcare, legal, or business interpreting
- Remote interpreting experience (video/telephone)
- Valid DBS or willingness to obtain one
- Membership in professional bodies (NRPSI, CIOL, ITI, ASLI) - not a deal breaker
