We also deliver Functional Skills and a range of language examinations. A-Team Academy is seeking an experienced and highly organised Exams Officer to take full responsibility for the administration and management of all examinations.
Please note: applications will only be considered from candidates who have previously worked as an Exams Officer within a school, college, or educational setting. This is an essential requirement and candidates without direct Exams Officer experience will not be shortlisted.
The Role
The Exams Officer is responsible for the planning, coordination, administration, and compliance of all internal and external examinations. The successful candidate will ensure examinations are conducted in accordance with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism. This is a key position within the Academy and requires someone who can work independently, manage competing deadlines, and confidently oversee the entire examinations process.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of examination administration from entry through to results and certification
- Prepare examination timetables, seating plans, and invigilation schedules
- Liaise with awarding bodies and ensure full compliance with JCQ regulations
- Coordinate access arrangements and special consideration processes
- Recruit, train, and manage examination invigilators
- Maintain accurate and secure examination records and data systems
- Provide guidance to students and staff regarding examination procedures
- Ensure all examination materials are stored and handled securely
- Support post-results services, including reviews and appeals where required
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as an Exams Officer in a school, college, or private educational setting
- Strong working knowledge of JCQ regulations and examination board requirements
- Experience managing examination entries, timetables, and results processes
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure
- Strong IT and data management skills
- High levels of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
