Assistant Environmental Services Technician
We are looking to hire an enthusiastic and hardworking Assistant Environmental Services Technician to join a team based out of Washington.
You will play a key role in maintaining and improving environmental standards across the city through street cleansing, grounds maintenance, litter removal, and winter maintenance activities.
This is a physically demanding, outdoor role that requires flexibility, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering high-quality services to local communities.
Duties
Carry out street cleansing duties, including emptying litter and dog waste bins and removing litter, waste, and fly-tipping.
Undertake grounds maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, strimming, pruning, and planting.
Assist with winter maintenance duties, including snow clearing and gritting operations.
Complete routine operational tasks using basic tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Work independently or as part of a team to achieve set standards of quality and productivity.
Follow all health and safety procedures and respond appropriately to local circumstances and risks.
Carry out pre-use checks on equipment and report any faults or defects promptly.
Accurately record completed work, report issues, and escalate problems to supervisors when required.
