We are currently recruiting for experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers to join a busy refuse collection team working throughout the South Tyneside area.
As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for safely driving a refuse collection vehicle while working alongside a team of refuse loaders.
The role involves travelling across residential areas throughout South Tyneside, including navigating and reversing safely through narrow streets and restricted areas.
Responsibilities
- Drive a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle safely and responsibly throughout South Tyneside.
- Transport a team of refuse loaders across designated residential collection routes.
- Safely move and reverse the vehicle through narrow streets and restricted areas.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and accurately record any defects.
- Ensure the vehicle is operated safely and in accordance with road traffic legislation.
- Follow designated collection routes and operational procedures.
- Work closely with refuse loaders to ensure collections are completed efficiently.
- Report vehicle defects, incidents or operational issues promptly.
- Follow all relevant Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
