Job Title: Design Engineer Location : Dudley Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per year Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the role: Due to exceptional business growth, A&T Enclosures, based in Dudley, have an excellent opportunity for a Design Engineer to join our expanding team. A&T Enclosures is a small, local business, previously family run, who specialize in manufacturing bespoke electrical enclosures. With an overall head count of around 75 employees, we are ever growing and there has never been a more exciting time to join the team! Duties and Responsibilities: As we manufacture bespoke electrical enclosures, this role would fit an Engineer with CAD or RADAN experience working within a similar industry. Liaising directly with customers and A&T Sales to ensure full clarity on the Engineering and specification aspects of their requirements Generate, quality check and release all specification and design information, production methods, punch press programs and processes and finishes to support procurement, production, finishing and handling and shipping for the required ‘right first-time quality’ Provide an effective checking function of your own and your colleagues work to ensure works orders are meeting required specifications Operate and increase your proficiency with the Company’s CAD/CAM system and ensure the security, correctness, good order and accessibility of its records so speeding up the release of customer orders and ‘standard instructions’ Optimize the use of materials Generate and define production processes and facilitate continuous improvement Work with production team leaders and their team members to identify design and specification issues and ensure that their team members identify design and specification issues and ensure that they are speedily and permanently rectified within specification data and drawings held or that limited manufacturing concessions are agreed and recorded Make recommendations on the control of product costs ‘make or buy’ decisions, value engineering and manufacturing processes About you: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience working with sheet metal sizing ranging between 1.2mm – 3mm thickness Autodesk AutoCad (2D) and a 2D CAD package Experience with RADAN Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills HND or degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering If you are looking for a challenging role where you can make a significant impact, apply now!
