Overview
NEW NURSERY IN OLDHAM – A-STAR KIDS PARKVIEW NURSERY
(Located in Coppice, Oldham)
We have just opened our doors as a new nursery setting this September 2025 and are growing rapidly. We are recruiting Level 3 and Level 6 Early Years qualified staff through a 5-stage interview process, with interview outcomes and start dates agreed upon. We are taking time to recruit the very best staff for our Montessori Forest School Nursery provision and invite you to apply by uploading your CV and answering screening questions.
Leadership positions are available for highly experienced candidates. Each application will be assessed individually based on breadth of experience, and the best candidates will be invited to progress through our 6-stage recruitment process.
About us
We have two nursery settings. Our first setting, A-Star Kids Islamic Pre-School, opened on Lees Road in Oldham in 2021 and is an Ofsted GOOD rated Provider, securing GOOD in all four categories. Our second setting, a Montessori Forest School Nursery, opened in Coppice (near Oldham Hulme Grammar School) this September. Our ambition is to secure OUTSTANDING and we are recruiting long-term staff to join us on our journey.
Role details
L6 & L3 Early Years CHILDCARE STAFF REQUIRED FOR VARIOUS START DATES. We are recruiting for various shift patterns after October Half-Term or earlier. We offer flexible working patterns to suit personal circumstances and commitments. We are also seeking highly experienced candidates to take up leadership positions full-time.
Qualifications: You must hold a Level 3 or Level 6 Childcare qualification relevant to early years. Candidates with extensive experience in the Early Years sector are desirable and will be shortlisted and contacted first. You must have passed GCSE/Functional Skills in English and, if possible, mathematics too. Qualifications in other subjects (e.g., health and social care or other teaching subjects not relevant to early years) are not considered. If you have a degree or Level 3 award in Health & Social Care you will not be considered. You must have qualified in the UK; overseas qualifications will not be considered. United Kingdom work authorisation is required.
Interviews & recruitment process
Interviews will be held throughout September 2025 and October 2025. Our recruitment process consists of a 5-stage process and we will require a reference from your current employer. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted with an interview invite.
Provisions & contracts
We offer both 38-week Term Time Contracts and 52-Week contracts. Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week. Pay: 13.50-15.50 per hour. Benefits include Company pension, Flexitime, Free parking, On-site parking, and Transport links.
Shift patterns
Example shift patterns:
- Full-time: 5 full days Monday–Friday (Term time or full year). Start times: 7.30am/7am/8.15am/8.30am or 9.00am; Finish times: 3.15pm/3.30pm or 4.30pm.
- Part-time: Mon-Fri; 7.30am-1.00pm or 12.00pm-3.30pm or 12.00pm-4.30pm.

Our curriculum & ethos
A-Star Kids offer two unique childcare settings with a Montessori forest school curriculum and Islamic Faith ethos. We celebrate a diverse staff workforce speaking over 6 languages. We are committed to outdoor learning and the development of British values, social cohesion, and community spirit.
We work with the Local Authority to deliver Forest School sessions in maintained Green spaces in Oldham and at our own Forest School site in Coppice. Our curriculum emphasizes outdoor learning, mastery in maths, and holistic forestry activities to support early years development.
Culture & extra-curricular
We are big on extracurricular trips and outdoor cultural capital. Daily Forest School sessions form a core part of our ambitious forest school curriculum. Staff should be ready to participate in outings and outdoor activities.

- Deliver effective practice at all times, promoting children’s development and safety.
- Implement our Islamic ethos, daily duas and Sunnah.
- Contribute to improving the quality of the early years provision and curriculum; participate in weekly outdoor forestry sessions.
- Support other practitioners in safeguarding and promoting good outcomes for children.
- Maintain high expectations for all children and help them reach their full potential.
- Establish a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for children to learn.
- Use observation and planning to monitor and improve practice and provision.
- Plan safe, child-led and adult-initiated experiences indoors, outdoors, and in out-of-setting contexts.
- Use diverse resources and promote equality and inclusion.
- Develop children’s language and communication skills.
- Promote positive behaviour and self-control.
- Foster collaboration among colleagues and shared responsibility for policies and practices.
- Demonstrate the academy’s values and behaviours and build respectful relationships with children and families.
- Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members, providing formal and informal communication.
