A Star Care is recruiting kind, reliable and professional Care Assistants to support service users in the Scarborough area, primarily across YO11 and nearby postcodes. This is a domiciliary care role providing support to adults in their own homes, helping people to remain safe, independent, comfortable and treated with full dignity at all times.
Please note: some packages may require female care workers due to the personal care needs and preferences of individual service users. Where this applies, it will be treated as a Genuine Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.
What the role involves:
- Providing personal care, including support with washing, dressing and continence care, in a respectful and dignified manner
- Preparing light meals, snacks and drinks
- Prompting or assisting with medication, where trained and authorised to do so
- Supporting safe mobility and movement within the home
- Completing accurate, timely care records after each visit
- Observing and reporting any changes in health, mood, appetite or wellbeing to the appropriate person
- Building professional, trustworthy relationships with service users and their families
