Care Assistant, Scarborough (YO11 and YO12), Drivers Preferred
Salary: From £13 per hour plus paid mileage
Hours: Shifts between 7am and 9pm, including evenings and alternate weekends
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire

ABOUT A STAR CARE
A Star Care Agency Limited is a CQC-registered domiciliary care provider on the North Yorkshire Council Approved Provider List. We support people to live well in their own homes across Scarborough and the surrounding area. Our values are Honesty, Equity, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork.
THE ROLE
You will visit people in their own homes across YO11 and YO12, supporting them with:
- Personal care including washing, dressing and continence support
- Medication prompts and administration
- Meal preparation and nutrition support
- Mobility support and safe moving and handling
- Companionship and emotional wellbeing
- Light domestic tasks linked to the agreed care plan
Calls are planned and logged on our Birdie care app, with a supportive office team and Care Coach behind you on every shift.
LET'S BE HONEST ABOUT THE HOURS
Our service runs between 7am and 9pm, seven days a week. The shifts we struggle hardest to cover are early mornings, tea-time, evenings and weekends. If you can offer reliable availability across those times, you will get consistent, well-paid work with us every single week.
WE ARE SPECIFICALLY LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN COMMIT TO:
- Early morning calls from 7am
- Tea-time and evening calls up to 9pm
- Alternate weekends as a minimum
If you can only work school hours (10am to 2pm), this is not the right role for you, and that's okay. We will be straight with you at interview rather than waste your time.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Right to work in the UK (essential, no sponsorship offered)
- Living in or close to YO11 or YO12
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (strongly preferred)
- Caring, reliable, punctual and able to follow a care plan
- Good standard of spoken and written English for care notes and medication records
- Willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check (we cover the cost)
- Previous care experience welcome but not essential. Full paid training provided.
