A Star Care is recruiting a reliable and respectful Live-In Personal Assistant / Complex Care Support Worker to support a university student with a complex physical disability to live independently in central Leeds. This is a rota-based live-in assignment. The successful worker will provide planned daytime support and agreed sleep-in cover while receiving appropriate breaks and rest periods. Key responsibilities • Provide dignified personal care, including support with bathing, dressing and continence needs. • Support safe transfers and mobility using fixed and mobile hoisting equipment in line with the care plan and training. • Prepare meals, complete light domestic tasks and assist with everyday routines. • Enable access to university, social, sporting and community activities while promoting choice and independence. • Drive a large automatic wheelchair-accessible vehicle safely. • Accompany occasional travel and overnight stays in North Yorkshire and elsewhere in the UK; overseas travel may be offered by prior agreement. Essential requirements • Previous professional experience providing personal care and moving-and-handling support. • Full, clean UK driving licence and confidence driving a large automatic vehicle. • Able to work a live-in rota and travel or stay away when agreed. • Respectful of privacy, dignity, personal boundaries and independent decision-making. • Right to work in the UK, satisfactory employment references and an Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one. Desirable experience • Supporting adults with complex physical disabilities or reduced mobility. • Live-in care, hoisting, wheelchair support or supporting a young adult in education. Pay and benefits • £850 gross per seven-day live-in placement week. • £50 weekly food allowance and live-in accommodation. • Approved work-related travel expenses. • Statutory employment entitlements apply.
