A motivated Design Engineer is required to join our exclusive global engineering manufacturing client. In return, there is an excellent salary package circa £40k-£45k+ (maybe higher salaries for exceptional candidates) plus good company benefits including a very generous company contribution pension scheme, work from home Fridays, extra holiday days, sick pay and medical and long-term career prospects in engineering management roles in a well-established and prestigious stable company.

The ideal Design Engineer candidate will have the below skills and experiences:

  • Good proven hands-on mechanical design experience within engineering industries
  • HND/HNC engineering / Mechanical Design/ Electro-mechanical engineering degree qualifications or equivalent (B.eng, M.eng etc).
  • Good practical experience of CAD (SOLIDWORKS advantageous but AUTOCAD and other CAD packages are suitable)
  • Design experience in pharmaceutical, biomedical, FMCG, food process machinery, drinks, beverages manufacturing, water industry, oil and gas or similar engineering industries
  • Full UK driving licence and passport as there will be occasional travel to European and international offices (for training etc.) and client sites; unfortunately, my client cannot offer sponsorship for visas/work permits. You must be based locally to the site.

Desirable:

  • Experience of machinery design, special purpose machine design within process machinery design and awareness of machinery safety standards
  • Any CNC experience, CNC machinery, CAM (desirable)

The design engineers will be working on installed-based machinery and designated projects, producing detail designs for the company's machines including improvement, modernisation, refurbishment and development of machine design to design specification, complying with the relevant international and UK company standards.

You will have experience of the following to carry out the key responsibilities of this role:

  • Producing design schematic, assembly and detail drawings for specified projects and cable routing drawings
  • Producing Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Preparing P&IDs using AutoCAD, 2D CAD
  • Manufacturing capabilities and limitations, selection and suitability of material and instruments
  • Mechanical, pneumatic and electrical systems
  • Methods of assembly, metal fabrications and machined components.
