Are you a hands-on team leader who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys being out on the road rather than behind a desk, and wants to see the real-world impact of the work you deliver? As an Installation Supervisor at A-SAFE, you’ll lead the on-site delivery of our world-leading barrier and safety systems across customer sites throughout the South of England. This is a hands-on, field-based supervisory role where the safety, quality and professionalism of every installation directly shapes how our customers experience the A-SAFE brand.
At A-SAFE, we design and manufacture the world’s leading industrial safety barriers and protection systems, used by some of the biggest names in warehousing, manufacturing, logistics and aviation. As Installation Supervisor, you’ll be the face of the business on site - often the last, and most lasting, impression the customer has of us - leading an Installation Engineer to install products that protect people in their workplaces every day.
You’ll work closely with your installation crew, the Operations and Scheduling teams, Sales and the drawings/CAD team, as well as customers and site stakeholders - from health & safety and project managers to site owners - to deliver every job safely, on time and to an exceptional standard.
How you will make an impact:
- You’ll lead and supervise installations on site, making sure every job is delivered safely and compliantly, in line with RAMS, site rules and A-SAFE quality standards.
- You’ll provide on-site leadership and direction to your Installation Engineer allocating tasks, setting expectations and leading by example.
- You’ll be the primary on-site point of contact for customers, managing expectations and representing the A-SAFE brand positively at all times.
- You’ll plan, monitor and control delivery, keeping installations on programme and within scope and budget.
- You’ll get hands-on and stay in the tools - measuring, cutting, drilling, lifting and working at height to get the job done to a high standard.
- You’ll read and interpret drawings and RAMS (increasingly via iPad), and spot and resolve issues on site.
- You’ll complete accurate job reporting, photos and sign-offs, and capture variations and opportunities to feed back to the business.
- You’ll communicate progress, risks and changes clearly to the Operations, Commercial and Sales teams.
- You’ll help shape the future of the function as we introduce new products and an inspection/audit model - becoming custodians and auditors of our own products.
What we are looking for:
- A full UK driving licence - you’ll drive the crew vehicle and travel to sites across the south.
- A strong understanding of health & safety, RAMS and safe systems of work.
- Hands-on experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- A background in a practical, installation-based trade - for example construction, assembly, fencing, decking, landscaping, racking, shop or kitchen fitting, steel fitting or highways/barrier installation.
- The ability to read drawings, measure accurately and work to fine tolerances.
- Experience leading, supervising or coordinating others on site.
- Comfortable with physical work and working at height, with a good level of fitness.
- Strong communication and IT skills, with the confidence to engage customers and stakeholders.
- Flexibility to travel across the South of England and stay away from home overnight during the week.
- SSSTS (or higher) and a CSCS card are desirable, as is experience on construction sites or in manufacturing/industrial facilities.
You’ll also bring:
- A positive, can-do attitude and a genuine work ethic - someone who goes above and beyond.
- Real pride in quality workmanship and an instinct to put safety first in everything you do.
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset and the confidence to solve problems on site.
- The presence to represent and protect the A-SAFE brand in front of customers.
- Reliability, flexibility and the trust to work autonomously as a largely field-based leader.
- A desire to develop, take ownership and progress as the function grows.
Why you’ll love working with us:
You’ll join a close-knit, highly experienced installation team - with around 80 years of combined experience and genuine long tenure - where you’ll have a built-in support network and the autonomy to run your own jobs. No two weeks are the same: one week you could be working on an airport, the next on a factory floor, seeing some of the most impressive sites and customers in the country.
This is an exciting time to join, as we move through a real build-and-grow phase - introducing new products, new concepts that will broaden and evolve the role over time. You’ll be supported with full product training, a company vehicle, uniform, mobile and iPad, and the standard A-SAFE benefits package - and given the space to grow your career with a leading, innovative, global manufacturer.
If you take pride in leading from the front, delivering quality work hands-on, and being the face of a business that protects people every day, this role is for you.
