Are you an electronics engineer who loves solving complex technical challenges, shaping real‑world products, and seeing your designs come to life in the field? As a Senior Electronics Engineer at A‑SAFE, you’ll lead the design and development of hardware across our growing portfolio of IoT sensors and gateway technologies. These products play a critical role in improving safety and efficiency in industrial environments worldwide, and your work will directly influence their performance, reliability and innovation. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact engineering role where you’ll work across the full development lifecycle, collaborate closely with mechanical and software teams, and play a key part in defining next‑generation connected safety technology.

How you will make an impact

  • You’ll lead the design, development and validation of electronic hardware for new and existing IoT products.
  • You’ll challenge system designs, influence architecture and drive decisions on component selection, RF approaches, sensing strategy and hardware/software integration.
  • You’ll perform structured testing and debugging, ensuring designs are robust, efficient and meet the highest quality and compliance standards.
  • You’ll design and maintain production test equipment that ensures hardware is built right, first time.
  • You’ll prepare technical documentation, from schematics and specifications to test plans and reports.
  • You’ll explore new technologies, evaluate emerging components and help define our future engineering roadmap.
  • You’ll mentor others through best practice, structured reviews and hands‑on problem solving.
  • You’ll collaborate closely with embedded software, mechanical, product design and cloud teams to deliver integrated, beautifully engineered solutions.

What we are looking for

  • Strong experience designing electronic hardware, ideally for IoT, sensing, wireless or embedded products.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as Altium for schematic capture and PCB collaboration.
  • Strong knowledge of digital and analogue circuit design, including power, microcontrollers, sensors and interfaces.
  • Experience designing or integrating RF elements (antennas, modules, layout constraints, keep‑outs).
  • Hands‑on validation skills using oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, power analysers and other test equipment.
  • Experience supporting DFM/DFA, production test fixtures and prototype bring‑up.
  • Ability to review system‑level designs and contribute to architecture decisions.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

You’ll also bring

  • A problem‑solving mindset and the confidence to challenge assumptions.
  • High attention to detail and strong ownership of design quality.
  • Curiosity, adaptability and a willingness to explore new technologies and techniques.
  • A collaborative approach — you’ll work across multiple disciplines daily.
  • The desire to build products that genuinely improve safety and efficiency in industrial environments.

Why you’ll love working with us

  • You’ll join a highly capable, friendly and passionate engineering team where your ideas make an immediate impact.
  • You’ll work on meaningful, real‑world products used by global brands from airports and warehouses to manufacturing sites worldwide.
  • You’ll help shape next‑generation connected safety technology in a business that values innovation, invests in R&D, and embraces engineering excellence.
  • Expect variety, autonomy, technical challenge and a supportive environment where good engineering truly matters.
  • If you enjoy building hardware that solves real problems and want to be part of a team pushing the boundaries of industrial IoT, this role is for you.

Benefits

  • A subsidised on‑site gym, available for all colleagues.
  • Flexible start and finish times to fit around you and your lifestyle.
  • Enhanced Maternity, Paternity and NICU pay.
  • 25 Days holiday plus bank holidays with the option to buy more.
  • Cycle to work scheme, Specsavers vouchers, long service rewards, EAP.
