The Opportunity

Now, we’re looking for a dynamic Head of Testing and Validation to lead our Test by Design Department and drive operational excellence at the heart of our R&D.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the operational delivery of the Test by Design Department, ensuring all test activities are well planned, resourced, and executed to deadlines.
- Inspire and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
- Collaborate with R&D and Operations to align testing with project goals and timelines
- Drive process discipline across documentation, data logging, equipment usage, and health & safety
- Optimise departmental KPIs, capacity planning, and resource scheduling to maximise throughput and minimise bottlenecks
- Champion lean thinking and operational excellence across the department
What You’ll Bring
- Proven track record in leading operational teams in a technical, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to a testing, validation, or laboratory environment (mechanical, materials, or product testing).
- Strong people management skills with experience of building team capability, managing performance, and driving engagement.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, including resource scheduling and workload balancing.
- Confidence in driving process improvements and embedding efficient, repeatable workflows.
