Are you a hands‑on mechanical test engineer who takes pride in physically testing products to their limits, ensuring they’re safe, strong, and ready for real‑world use? At A‑SAFE, we design and manufacture world‑leading physical safety barriers and protection systems used in warehouses, factories, airports and logistics centres across the globe.

As a Senior Test Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in proving the performance and reliability of our products through structured, physical testing, helping us maintain our position as the global standard for safety innovation. This is a practical, site‑based role working in our world‑class physical test facility. You’ll be on the test floor, preparing rigs, running tests, analysing results and guiding a small team in safe, efficient test delivery.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • You’ll plan, coordinate and support the execution of product testing programmes, ensuring work is delivered safely, accurately and on schedule.
  • You’ll work primarily within our on‑site test facility, supporting the preparation, setup and execution of physical product tests.
  • This includes regular movement between test areas, hands‑on interaction with test equipment and close collaboration with engineers and technicians on the test floor.
  • You’ll support the operational performance of the Test by Design department by maintaining clear test schedules, resource plans and priorities.

You’re comfortable working in a practical, test lab environment and enjoy being present where testing happens. A practical problem‑solving approach and a drive to improve how things are done. Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams. The confidence to highlight risks, challenge assumptions and suggest improvements constructively. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast moving, operational environment where no two weeks are the same.

Qualifications

  • A degree in an engineering discipline, ideally mechanical or related field, or equivalent experience gained in a practical engineering or test environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of relevant test standards such as PAS 13, UNI, ANSI MH31.2 or similar.
  • Experience testing safety barrier systems or polymer‑based products.
  • Exposure to specialist test equipment such as high‑speed cameras, advanced measurement systems or specialist lighting setups.
  • Experience contributing to lean, continuous improvement or operational excellence initiatives.
  • Forklift driving experience.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us

You’ll join a technically driven, collaborative team where your work directly supports the development of safety critical products used by some of the world’s biggest brands. You’ll have real ownership, visibility and the opportunity to influence how testing is delivered, not just today, but as the function continues to evolve. If you enjoy hands‑on engineering, improving processes, and playing a key role in a growing global business, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact.
