Are you a business systems leader who enjoys owning the day-to-day delivery of core applications, coaching a capable team, and turning strategic direction into measurable outcomes across the next 12 months?
Location: Halifax, Elland, HX5 9JP
Hours: 37.5 hours
Working Pattern: Full-time, On-site 5 days per week
As our Business Systems Manager at A‑SAFE, you'll lead a team of three, a CRM Lead, a Digital Operations Lead and an Application Specialist and own the operational delivery of our core business systems. You'll partner with the IT & Business Systems Director to bring new platforms online, keep existing platforms performing, and make sure the wider business gets the most value out of every application. You’ll be the bridge between business stakeholders and IT, running requirements analysis, leading vendor selection, overseeing delivery to scope, time and budget, and owning vendor performance once platforms are live. This is a hands‑on leadership role that sits at the centre of a growing Digital function, with broad exposure across Finance, People, Operations, Product and our Digital team in Malaga.
How you will make an impact
- You’ll lead and develop a team of three direct reports (CRM Lead, Digital Operations Lead and Application Specialist), running monthly 1:1s, quarterly team cycles and weekly stand‑ups.
- You'll own the day‑to‑day delivery of the Business Systems project backlog, including in‑flight work on Manufacturing.
- You'll lead the analysis stage on new projects, capturing requirements with Finance, People, Operations and Product stakeholders, running RFIs and leading vendor selection.
- You'll own vendor relationships end to end, including renewals, commercial negotiations, SLA performance and service.
- You'll act as gatekeeper for prioritisation across Business Systems, balancing business value, commercials and team capacity.
- You'll own incident, problem and recurring issue resolution across core business applications, partnering with the IT Support Desk.
- You'll drive user adoption, training uplift and software utilisation improvement across the wider business.
- You'll embed governance frameworks to make sure systems are secure, compliant and well controlled.
- You'll deputise for the IT & Business Systems Director on Business Systems matters.
- You'll collaborate closely with our Digital team in Malaga and wider IT leadership on shared platforms and initiatives.
What we are looking for
- Experience in a Business Systems Manager role (or directly equivalent) with direct line management responsibility.
- Proven people leadership, including coaching, setting direction and developing individuals within a small team.
- Experience leading end‑to‑end business system implementations or major upgrades, from requirements through to go‑live.
- Demonstrable vendor management experience, including renewals, contract negotiation, SLA and performance management on commercial terms.
- Evidence of owning core business applications (ERP, CRM, HRIS or similar), not just project managing them.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a strong understanding of end‑to‑end business processes and the ability to translate business needs into system solutions.
- Manufacturing sector experience is a strong plus but not essential.
- Familiarity with any of our current platforms - HiBob (HRIS), Conek (CRM), Manufacturing Execution Systems, Microsoft 365 is desirable.
- Exposure to distributed or international teams is desirable.
You’ll also bring
- A pragmatic, delivery‑focused mindset, comfortable leading in ambiguity and bringing structure to day‑to‑day delivery.
- High approachability and strong interpersonal skills; the team dynamic matters as much as the technical fit.
- A growth mindset, honest about what you don’t yet know and happy to find out.
- The ability to organise, prioritise and balance competing demands across projects, vendors and the team.
- Alignment with our values: passion, collaboration, integrity and innovation.
Benefits
- A subsidised on-site gym, available for all colleagues.
- Flexible start and finish times to fit around you and your lifestyle.
- Enhanced Maternity, Paternity and NICU pay.
- 25 Days holiday plus bank holidays with the option to buy more.
- Cycle to work scheme, Specsavers vouchers, long service rewards, EAP.
