As Senior Event Operations Manager, you will take the lead on planning and delivering major outdoor mass-participation events. You will own the operational design of key areas across our portfolio, and guide others through the planning process. You will combine detailed logistical thinking with on-the-ground leadership, balancing stakeholder engagement, supplier management, safety planning, contingency preparation and real-time decision-making. You’ll also contribute to the development of new concepts and future growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and delivery of assigned events or key operational areas
  • Oversee operational design including transport planning, route/venue management, crowd and spectator management, staffing plans and supplier oversight
  • Create and maintain operational documentation (site plans, EMPs, RA/MS, start wave plans etc)
  • Design and manage build and de-rig schedules across greenfield and urban sites
  • Contract, brief, and manage suppliers and contractors within budget
  • Manage event-day operations for your assigned areas
  • Support and mentor team members and event weekend crew
  • Contribute to community engagement and sponsor integration
  • Help shape improvements to processes, documentation, and planning systems
  • Assist with development of new event concepts and acquisitions

Qualifications

  • 3-4+ years’ hands-on experience planning and delivering large outdoor events

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of operational disciplines: logistics, safety, crowd management, route planning, and contractor oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to lead on-site operations and make clear decisions under pressure
  • Experience managing budgets, negotiating with suppliers, and developing risk and contingency plans
  • Excellent project management and organisation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including quick thinking on event days
  • A collaborative, positive approach with the ability to guide others
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)

Preferred Skills

  • Full driving licence and willingness to drive a van
  • Willingness to travel, stay away overnight and work multiple weekends each year
  • Comfortable with the physical and practical nature of outdoor event delivery

Pay range and compensation package

Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
